Dry eye care is an awful disease process, and because I have lived with and continue to suffer from this disease process, I know what my patients are experiencing from many different aspects. Dry eye disease is multifactorial, it presents in many different ways and they are not always the same from one person to the other.

I give my all in diagnosing what is causing my patient’s dry eye signs and symptoms, and I believe in addressing all contributing factors, not masking them with pharmaceuticals. I believe in exhausting all non-invasive options and I prescribe when it is absolutely necessary.

I invested in my dry eye spa in 2018 (6 years ago), before anyone else in Tucson, and I am still investing, for those who need excellent dry eye care. It has been my pleasure to help as many patients as I can. I feel blessed to do what I love, and am proud to offer the following services:

Dry Eye Treatment Tucson, AZ

Dry Eye Treatment

Elite Dry Eye Spa is proud to offer dry eye treatment for our patients. Ocular Surface Disease, also known as dry eye, can occur from certain medications, naturally by aging, or as a symptom arising from systemic diseases such as Sjogren’s syndrome, Rheumatoid arthritis, or Lupus. If you have a minor case of dry eye, you may be experiencing irritation, excessive tearing, fluctuating vision, and/or a burning sensation in your eyes. Excessive dry eyes, or dry eye symptoms that go untreated, have the potential to damage eye tissue, scar your corneas, and impair your vision.

LipiFlow Dry Eye Treatment

Here at Elite Dry Eye Spa, we are proud to offer LipiFlow Dry Eye Treatment to our patients. This unique treatment is designed to remove any blockages from the meibomian gland and treat dry eye symptoms. In the past, dry eye has primarily been treated with prescription or over-the-counter eye drops, dietary supplements, and punctal plugs (also known as tear duct plugs). LipiFlow treatment provides relief similar to these remedies but in a more effective, safe, and drug-free way.

What Causes Dry Eye?
Many symptoms of dry eye are a result of Meibomian Gland Dysfunction, which causes blockages that hinder the production of oil, which helps prevent your eyes from drying out. These oils also help protect your eyes from environmental variables that can negatively impact the health of your eyes, not to mention your comfort. Without the protection of these oils, excessive reading and television use, dry climates, and heating and air conditioning can all have adverse effects on your eye health and can contribute to dry eye symptoms.

How does LipiFlow work?
With the LipiFlow treatment, we can clear blockages of the meibomian gland through a combination of heat and massage to the outer and inner eyelids. By removing these blockages, your eyes can return to their natural functionality so that your dry eye symptoms are treated with natural tears rather than artificial ones. This treatment is not only extremely effective in treating dry eye, but it is a quick, non-surgical procedure that we can do in a single office visit.

Is LipiFlow Safe?
Here at Elite Dry Eye Spa, we use only the safest, most effective products to treat our patients. LipiFlow treatment is designed only to apply pressure and heat to the eyelids, so your eyeball and the structure of your eye is never affected. Our highly trained staff would be happy to help answer any additional questions you may have about your treatment.
